‘En Familia’

CADIZ RETREAT 18th - 23rd SEPTEMBER 2025

This isn’t a normal yoga retreat.

It’s a special annual ritual, a beautiful holiday ‘en familia’.

A gathering of joy, an exploration of local culture, a taste of the regional cuisine and a flavour of ‘la buena vida’ lived in one of one of Spain’s best kept secrets.

It’s home for me, and I can’t wait to welcome you to it.

What’s included:

  • Five nights accommodation in the beautiful ‘Casa Palacio Las Marias’ - a traditional ‘palace house’ right in the centre of Cadiz.

  • Twice daily yoga practice. An energising flow to start the day, and a chilled, restorative practice to wind down before dinner.

  • Daily brunch (which wouldn’t be complete without some freshly made Spanish tortillas every day), and a themed family dinner in the evenings, prepared by our hosts. Snacks, tea, coffee and fruit available throughout the day.

  • Flamenco show with tapas and vino fino.

  • A trip to a natural saline spa - which includes a massage treatment each.

  • Lots of time to chill and relax at your own leisure (the beach is under a 10 minute walk from the house).

  • A paella party in my family home with beer, vino, and a selection of Esteban’s famous paellas.

The accommodation and location:

Our local host Maria del Mar is so excited to welcome us back to her beautiful home, ‘Casa Palacio las Marias’ - an enchanting home offering a bohemian twist to the typical palace house of the Andalusian region.

This isn’t a commercialised retreat centre, rather a family home which opens its doors for us to enjoy a unique and individually curated experience. Rooms are en-suite, and each individually decorated to fit a theme. You will be free to use the entire house throughout your stay - the beautiful kitchen, living areas, and of course, the amazing rooftop terrace.

The house is located in the historic centre of Cadiz, one of Spain’s best kept secrets. Local restaurants, shops, markets and museums are all within walking distance. The nearest beach, Playa de la Caleta, is under a 10 minute walk.

The yoga:

There will be two daily practices based around a theme (revealed in due time).

The morning practice will be a more energising vinyasa flow, and the evening practice will be a yin, restorative or breathwork practice.

All levels are welcomed, although some experience of yoga is useful.

No practices are mandatory - this is your time to reset and rest so if you need to miss any that is absolutely fine.

The food:

Our hosts will be using local, fresh produce from the market to prepare two big meals every day.

Following morning practice, we all sit down to enjoy a buffet brunch together - a cold and hot selection and of course, a few freshly made Spanish tortillas every day (alongside tomato bread and olive oil - my favourite breakfast in the world).

Following evening practices, we will all sit round for dinner together for a themed, buffet-style family dinner.

Snacks, fruit, tea, coffee and juices are available throughout the day.

All dietary requirements catered for.

The special magic on top:

As I mentioned at the beginning, this isn’t your normal yoga retreat. This is a holiday ‘en familia’, one in which I welcome you into my hometown.

A flamenco show, a visit to the natural ‘Salinas de Chiclana’, and a paella party in my family home are amongst the ‘extras’ that make this retreat so special.
