MARIA PACHA DOMINGUEZ
The spiel of how I came to love yoga probably wouldn’t stand out from the norm - I started yoga purely for the physical benefits, fell in love with how it made me feel, and started relying on it more and more for its mental and emotional benefits. I became a teacher to help others tap into these benefits too - to make you realise that it’s not about touching your toes or doing the splits, but about what you learn about yourself along the way.
There are many other things that I could write in this ‘About Me’ section of my website, but I’ll spare you from the life story with some key highlights:
I balance my yoga teaching with my corporate job. I left the day job to focus solely on my yoga career for a while, but soon realised that I needed the balance of yang and yin in order to thrive.
I try to escape to Cadiz (Spain) at any given opportunity. It’s home and it’s family. The total feeling of calm I get practicing yoga in my rooftop as the sun sets over La Caleta is pure magic.
I am a mama-to-be, and I couldn’t be more excited. I am currently completing my post-natal yoga teacher training, and will soon be teaching other mamas in their post-natal recovery journey.
I teach a range of styles of yoga - from dynamic, power practices to yin. Where possible, I try to make my classes fun and upbeat - encouraging you to find joy and lightness in the movement. Life is serious enough already, our yoga practice doesn’t have to be.
My favourite part of teaching yoga is the people I’ve met along the way. Creating a community beyond the mat, through retreats and classes, is by far the most fulfilling part of this whole journey.
